Tarken

Tarken began with a simple idea: fresh air makes for good sleep, but getting out of bed at night to close a window when the room gets cold is not very convenient. We were looking for a practical way to automate a standard tilt-and-turn window without replacing the window, drilling holes, or installing a large chain-driven motor. When we couldn’t find a suitable solution, we started developing one from scratch ourselves.

Throughout the development process, we have worked through hundreds of concepts, tests, and design iterations. We have built numerous prototypes, refined the mechanics, electronics, software, and installation approach, and continued improving the product until it became a practical solution for everyday use.

From the very beginning, we wanted Tarken to do more than just open and close a window. That’s why we added CO₂, temperature, and humidity monitoring, so the device can help understand when a room actually needs ventilation, rather than relying on assumptions. We also wanted Tarken to support different use cases, allowing each user to adapt the product to their needs - whether that is remote control, schedules, automations, or smart home integrations. Together with Matter over Thread compatibility, Tarken helps maintain a healthier and more comfortable indoor climate with less manual intervention.
